Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide from Verdant Safaris and begin your scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside characterised by rolling hills, vibrant local communities and lush green landscapes. Along the way, you will make several stopovers, including the Equator crossing for photographs and refreshments. Continue through the picturesque highlands of south-western Uganda where terraced hillsides and breathtaking scenery accompany your journey. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will enter the dense rainforest in search of one of the habituated mountain gorilla families that call Bwindi home. The trek may take several hours depending on the location and movements of the gorillas, but every moment spent in this ancient forest is rewarding and filled with anticipation. Along the way, you may encounter colourful birds, butterflies and other forest inhabitants while learning about the ecology and conservation of this remarkable ecosystem.
