6 Days Uganda Primate Tracking Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide from Verdant Safaris and immediately begin your scenic journey to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside characterised by rolling hills, lush green landscapes, traditional villages and extensive tea plantations. Along the way, you will enjoy several stopovers for refreshments and photography while learning about Uganda’s culture and history from your guide. Arrive at your luxury lodge in the late afternoon and settle into the tranquil surroundings of the forest. Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering Kibale Forest in search of habituated chimpanzee families. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will walk through the tropical rainforest while listening to the calls of primates and birds echoing through the canopy. Observing chimpanzees feeding, playing and interacting with one another in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience. Besides chimpanzees, you may also encounter several monkey species and colourful forest birds. Following lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community and nature walk. Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Accompanied by expert guides and trackers, you will walk through dense vegetation while learning about the ecology and conservation efforts protecting these magnificent primates. The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but every moment spent in the forest adds to the excitement of the experience. Once you encounter the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, groom and interact with one another. The experience of standing only a few metres away from mountain gorillas is profoundly moving and remains one of the greatest wildlife encounters in the world.
