Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide from Verdant Safaris. After a briefing about your safari, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe for relaxation and recovery from your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a leisurely walk around the hotel grounds or enjoy views of Lake Victoria. Your guide will provide an overview of the exciting experiences awaiting you during the next fourteen days. This first day allows you to unwind and prepare for your extraordinary adventure through Uganda’s national parks and cultural sites.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will begin your journey northwards to Murchison Falls National Park. En route, you will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience on foot. This encounter offers you the opportunity to observe Uganda’s only wild rhinos in their natural habitat. After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park and proceed to the top of the falls where the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically into the Devil’s Cauldron. The views and thunderous sounds of the falls create an unforgettable introduction to Uganda’s largest national park.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Rise early for a morning game drive across the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. The savannah is home to elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, antelopes and numerous bird species. Your guide will help you spot wildlife while explaining the park’s unique ecosystems. Following lunch and relaxation at the lodge, embark on an afternoon boat cruise along the River Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. The cruise provides excellent opportunities to observe hippos, Nile crocodiles and animals coming to the riverbanks to drink. The spectacular views of the falls from below complete a remarkable day of wildlife exploration.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and travel south-west through Uganda’s picturesque countryside towards Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes you through charming villages, tea plantations and rolling hills that reveal the country’s natural beauty. Arrive in the afternoon and check into your lodge situated near the forest. You may spend the remainder of the day relaxing or enjoying a guided nature walk around the lodge. Kibale Forest is renowned for harbouring the highest concentration of primates in East Africa and promises exciting encounters in the days ahead.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Today begins with an early briefing before entering Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you will search for habituated chimpanzee families while listening to their calls echoing through the forest. Besides chimpanzees, you may encounter red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and numerous bird species. After lunch, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided community walk. This conservation area is famous for its rich birdlife and provides insights into local traditions and sustainable tourism initiatives. The experiences today offer a perfect combination of wildlife and cultural immersion.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive in search of lions, leopards, hyenas and large herds of herbivores. The Kasenyi sector is renowned for excellent wildlife viewing and offers superb photographic opportunities. Return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and hosts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of hippos. You will also observe crocodiles, elephants and numerous bird species gathering along the shores, making this one of Uganda’s most rewarding boat safaris.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, journey through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Continue southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The scenic drive passes through terraced hills and local communities. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and prepare for one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking regulations. The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, but the reward of spending one hour observing these gentle giants is truly unforgettable. Watching mountain gorillas feed, interact and care for their young is a deeply moving experience. Following the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and celebration of this remarkable achievement.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You may spend the afternoon relaxing by the lakeside, swimming or taking an optional canoe ride. Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

This morning, depart Lake Bunyonyi and proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. Uganda’s smallest Savannah park is renowned for its zebras, impalas, elands and rich birdlife. Upon arrival, enjoy an evening game drive through the acacia woodlands and open grasslands. The park’s intimate atmosphere and beautiful landscapes provide a different safari experience compared to the larger parks. Day 12: Walking Safari and Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast, depart Jinja and return to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
